Aging & dementia

Exploring the complexities of aging and dementia to honor the past and shape a better future.

My Why

My passion for studying aging, Alzheimer’s, and dementia is deeply rooted in my personal story. My immigrant grandfather, a wise and handsome lawyer—the first professional in our family—passed away from Parkinson’s before I had the chance to meet him. My mother often tells me that his spirit lives on through me, and I believe we would have formed a meaningful connection had dementia not intervened. This profound loss fuels my determination to understand, treat, and research these complex conditions, honoring his legacy and striving to address one of life’s most existential challenges.
